ADI

What is ADI (Austempered Sphero Casting)?

Austempering is an isothermal heat treatment that significantly improves both the durability and corrosion resistance of ductile iron while maintaining the impact resistance and ductility of the material. ADI is a proven cost-effective alternative to cast and forged steel and offers the following advantages:

Properties:

Strength

Tensile strength up to 1600 N / mm2.

Processing

Being close to the Nett shape reduces the processing costs.

Apparatus

The tools are cheaper with longer lead time than forging molds.

Wear Resistance

ADI actively resists abrasion; The surface hardens immediately during any work.

Weight Saving

10% lighter than steel. Higher strength allows smaller sections than conventional SG castings while maintaining performance criteria.

High fatigue resistance

At the end of any crack, the material is transformed into a very hard material that prevents crack propagation.

Quantity Price

As a conversion from steel castings, tattoos and fabrications, ADI can offer very low cost costs.

Metallurgy

Heat treatment has the effect of changing the metallic matrix to thin ferrite needles in an iron and carbon solution, also known as ausferite
